About the role:
The Manager FP&A Global Specialties is a temporary position (estimated 15 months) for maternity coverage. You will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of monthly actuals and forecast reporting for the Global Specialties organization. You are a member of the Group FP&A team, reporting to the Director Group FP&A based in Zurich and accountable (dotted line) to the VP, CFO Global Specialties. You will support strategic decision-making by delivering data-driven insights, accurate and timely reporting.
This position involves close collaboration with many internal stakeholders, both from business and from finance side.
Key responsibilities:
- The Manager FP&A Global Specialties acts as the go-to person for supporting analysis for management decisions. In a pro-active way, the FP&A Manager monitors forecasted financial performance and advises management. Furthermore, the incumbent analyzes past performance in comparison to prior year and plans and leverage learnings to improve future forecast.
- This is a very complete role, involved in
- Top-line actual and forecast volume, contract portfolio, opportunities, budget
- Contribution Margin Variance analysis, including Volume / Mix / Margins review and understanding of different costs drivers (e.g. Materials / Transport / Financing / Agent fees / Direct Factory costs / Direct Order Handling ...)
- Fixed Costs review, including Indirect Factory costs, depreciation and connection with Operational Finance
- Full P&L and B/S review, including analysis on cash, DSO, working capital, etc.
- As a FP&A Manager you are the glue between the different entities in Global Specialties and establish / maintain harmonized processes on reporting, forecasting, budgeting, mid-term plan.
- You own the coordination of our monthly closing, mid-term plan, budget/targets settings and rolling forecast
- The FP&A Manager ensures key business data is available and fit for purpose for sales & finance teams across Global Specialties. The FP&A Manager works on continuous improvement of reports, Global Specialties databases - to provide accurate insights, data and database for finance and sales Specialty community in strong coordination with the Global FP&A Governance and Analytics team
- The FP&A Manager is the go-to co-pilot for the VP Specialties to steer future profitability, volumes, portfolio and analyze the past.
- Furthermore, the position acts as a key support function for the VP, CFO Global Specialties with regard to preparing executive information and presentations for purposes of Strategic plans, quarterly Business Review meetings, ExCo meetings, Sales meetings, BRD (Business Review Deck), etc.
- Finally, this role will be involved and eventually take leadership in business related topics and projects pertaining to the full
operational value chain, outsourcing, M&A, HR support.
About you:
- Bachelor’s / Master’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar
- Extensive experience in Controlling and/or FP&A and/or management reporting with accounting understanding (at least 5 years)
- Experience in international corporate environments and matrix organizations would be considered a plus
- Ability to connect financial reporting figures with business insights
- Data analytics and reporting skills
- Expertise in financial modelling and forecasting
- Good operational knowledge of MS Office software with advanced Excel skills (Tables, Pivot Tables, lookups)
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools, SAP and Business Warehouse preferred
- Analytical / hands-on / flexible / strong drive to deliver / very solutions oriented
- Leadership experience & stakeholder management
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with stakeholders from different levels in the organization
- Proficiency in English, both written and oral
