About the role:

 

The Digital Manufacturing Deployment Lead is responsible for identifying, developing and implementing digital solutions that accelerate and enhance manufacturing performance and supply chain efficiency across Barry Callebaut’s global operations. With a strong foundation in manufacturing and digital technologies, this individual translates operational challenges into high-impact digital use cases, prioritizing initiatives based on business value and supply chain impact. The role leads the design and execution of proof-of-concept projects, ensuring solutions are validated before scaling across the enterprise. A key focus of this role is to drive adoption at the point of application, ensuring digital tools are embedded into daily operations and deliver measurable results. The incumbent also owns and maintains the global digital solutions catalogue, ensuring it reflects current capabilities, successful deployments, and future opportunities.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Identify and prioritize digital use cases based on company strategies, operational needs, supply chain and business value.
  • Lead the design through cross-functional team, execution and evaluation of proof-of-concept projects to validate digital solutions.
  • Work towards adoption of digital tools at the point of application, ensuring integration into daily operations (learn to roll out).
  • Maintain and evolve a global catalogue of validated digital solutions, including use cases and deployment status.
  • Collaborate with global and regional teams across manufacturing, IT and finance to ensure successful implementation/value.
  • Monitor performance of deployed solutions and establish feedback loops for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure digital initiatives are aligned with strategic goals and scalable across the enterprise.
  • Support capability building and knowledge sharing around digital tools and best practices – partner with P&C Pillar and Platform Technology Team to roll out program across BC plants network.
  • Provide clear reporting on digital solution impact, adoption rates and value realization.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and assess their relevance to operational challenges.

 

About you:

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or industrial environments with strong knowledge of production processes.
  • 3–5 years leading digital transformation or innovation projects in manufacturing or supply chain.
  • Proven track record in identifying, piloting, implementing, and scaling digital solutions across multiple sites.
  • Skilled in managing PoCs, driving adoption of digital tools, and ensuring measurable impact.
  • Strong proficiency with digital platforms, data analytics tools, and performance monitoring systems.
  • Excellent project management skills with experience leading cross‑functional teams (Operations, IT, Finance, Supply Chain).
  • Clear communicator able to engage both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in multinational or multi‑site environments and navigating organizational complexity.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to link digital initiatives to operational goals.
  • Effective at influencing without authority and driving change across diverse teams.
  • Innovative mindset with a willingness to challenge current ways of working.
  • Strong execution discipline with a focus on results and accountability.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable operating in dynamic environments.
  • Willing to travel 40–60% of the time.
