ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Global Expert Civil and Infrastructure is defining and driving the technical scope of multiple projects, End-to-End and Global across the organization. The role will manage a portfolio of 10 to 15 projects per year, each with a budget between 2 and 15 MCHF (average project budget 5 MCHF). The role is also responsible for bringing expertise for the BC standards. Together with the Global Senior Engineer BC Standards and a CSD community he will give content, evaluate, discuss and deploy the BC standards that are related to his domain of expertise across all clusters and locations. The expert has broad knowledge of hygienic civil design inside and infrastructural works outside of the factories. The expert is responsible for climate resilient and sustainable civil design, compliant with local and international regulations in green- and brownfield projects across the globe.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Design, communicate, and implement an operational plan for initiating complex and multiple projects; find solutions for operational problems, minimize delays. Identify, develop and gather resources to make the basic engineering happen for these projects.
● Supporting corporate projects in the pre-IP phase and assisting the engineering execution and other departments for the post-IP phase
● Collaborate in footprint- and masterplan studies from the engineering part and the basic design for principal processes; in particular all civil and infrastructure related topics such as general structural design, roofing, flooring, fire safety, pavement structure, storm water drainage systems
● Supports the BC organization in the development of technical standards according to the business strategy. He ensures the standards are known and understood
● Delivers content for the technical specifications for refurbishment questions
● Assist in generating concepts for the BC long term strategy for the factory of the future
● Collaborate with Technical Sourcing for strategic purchasing and develop long term partnership and collaboration with the global or regional preferred suppliers
● Collaborates with the other Regional Experts to improve technical solutions, safety, sustainability and quality for all BC installations and factories.
ABOUT YOU:
• Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• 10+ years of experience in construction industry or related industry
• Must be fluent in English (spoken and written). French, German and/or other languages are an advantage
• Experience in hygienic design is a must. Experience in energy management and smart building is an advantage
• Experience in working in a matrix organization, leading initiatives across 10+ locations and influencing stakeholders remotely
• Thorough knowledge of product-, people-, waste- and packaging-flows in factories
• Affinity with the chocolate process and chocolate equipment
• Basic accounting & budgeting skills (business cases, feasibility studies)
• Interest in food processing area particularly hygienic design and energy management is a must
• Affinity & interest in Industry 4.0 developments (e.g. MES, Smart Tech, Data mining, Google tools)
• Background in TPM, Lean, Six Sigma is a plus
• Solution-oriented negotiator with an ability to influence and motivate stakeholders from multiple levels in an organization
