Digital Transformation Analyst Engineer

Key responsibilities

  • You will be part of the corporate digital development team. Within the processes development department our group is responsible for the realization of the digital transformation & data science projects for the Barry Callebaut group: more than 11000 employees, 62 factories in 30+ countries. 
  • To accelerate the rollout of our smart factory project, we are looking for a project engineer that has experience with coordinating implementation of industrial IT / MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and/or historian systems.
  • You will be responsible to take the lead in the project from design to delivery to the end-users. Tasks include writing the design specification, gathering input and validating the deliverables with all stakeholders, coordinating the integrators for the automation and MES application delivery, leading the FAT testing, training end users and coordinating after-care support.
  • Your goal is to deliver an application that helps the factories to gain insight in the manufacturing process in order to help improve productivity, reduce downtime, increase throughput and reduce costs. To achieve this you will be a part of a multifunctional project team of IT/network, MES, Automation, continuous improvement and production experts. 
  • Data analytics are crucial to better understand critical business insights. You will support in setting up internal reporting and analysis tools. Depending on the complexity this could be internal developed reports or with the support of external contractors based on requirements you will help define. 
  • You will work in a quickly evolving, international and dynamic environment in a field with a very positive future outlook. You will be based in the Lodz factory.

 

Expectations:

  • You have an academic master’s degree in engineering. Preferably computer sciences; automation; electronics-ICT or a related field or equivalent by experience. 
  • You have experience in project management and affinity with change management
  • You are a results-oriented team player and you will moderate the various parties involved (customers, users, suppliers and contractors).
  • You are thinking in a process oriented and analytical way. Experience in the manufacturing or process industry (food&beverage, pharma, chemical) is a plus. 
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and databases is required
  • Experience with digital transformation or MES projects is preferred.
  • Experience in process automation is considered a plus. 
  • Experience with Wonderware (Archestra, Intouch, System Platform, Skelta Workflow, Historian) is a big plus, but not mandatory.
  • You are fluent in English. Other languages can be considered a plus. 
  • You are strongly attracted to the cocoa and chocolate industry and you are willing to master the process.
  • You have a broad interest in technology and are continuously collecting know-how to deliver state of the art solutions.
