About the Role

 

Under the management of the Operational Planning Manager, the Senior OPR Planner will be responsible for developing balanced short and medium-term plans for Barry Callebaut European production facilities. To that endeavor, he/she will guide and challenge the GBS OPR planners. As part of the weekly S&OE process, the supply planner will work closely with key business stakeholders to ensure the availability of products serving our customers on time and in full at the lowest cost possible. The Senior OPR Planner will support the weekly S&OE process by preparing the needed material (weekly executive meeting), engaging stakeholders, coordinating follow-up actions, and implementing decisions. Additionally, the Senior OPR Planner will participate in key initiatives and projects to support continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities Include

 

  • Develop and maintain production plans across sites with optimal use of the network, asset utilization, stock levels, and maximized customer satisfaction
  • Drive allocation of production volumes to factories in the network
  • Shape/confirm factories manning requirements for operational horizon
  • Consolidate and report on Regional supply plan
  • Prepare for the CSD handshake (pre-S&OE) to ensure alignment across CSD departments
  • Responsible for getting the supply plan approved by the plant managers
  • Generate reports to track inventory levels, identify potential supply shortages and check capacity utilization
  • Proactively identify and resolve supply chain issues, with a focus on network balancing. Identify required back-ups to be executed to resolve overloads or identify the needs for recipe transfers.
  • Ensure feasibility of the plan with regard to downstream constraints and resolve issues in collaboration with the other stakeholders
  • Bring unsolvable issues to the relevant decision forum (as part of S&OE)
  • Prepare a presentation for S&OE with the right content to trigger the right actions
  • Follow-up on actions resulting from the S&OE meetings and ensure implementation of decisions impacting supply
  • Give direction to the GBS OPR planning community as well as the remaining local planning community (e.g. S&OE actions and decisions)
  • Challenge the GBS OPR planning community (asset utilization, feasibility of the plan, volume allocation, KPI performance, etc…)
  • Ensure the operational plan is in line with tactical guidance: shift regimes, volume allocation between sites, transfers, and investment ramp-up
  • Ensure the operational plan meets inventory targets and stock-build ambitions
  • Drive regular reviews with local teams on planning parameters to model capacity: OEEs, rates, calendars, and maintenance plan
  • Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics
  • Develop and implement strategies for optimizing inventory levels across warehouses
  • Review and update supply network model and processes to ensure cost-efficiency
  • Establish and maintain relationships with production and distribution sites to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality
  • Collaborate as Supply Chain representative in the assigned projects relating to the responsible plants or subcontractors (such as new production lines, and new product implementations…)

 

About You

 

  • Masters Degree, preferably within Business or Engineering
  • APICs or related supply chain certification
  • English fluent
  • > 5 years experience in supply planning, purchasing, inventory management, and/or logistics
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices, specifically the integrated supply planning process.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Previous experience with SAP and Business Objects
  • Previous experience with OMP is a plus
  • Process Oriented
