About the Role

 

The purpose of the role is to translate policy and develop the strategy and objectives for the discipline in each functional area, in line with corporate guidelines.

Our ambition is “Go4Zero” (0 accidents, 0 quality incidents, 0 delays and 0 impact). The SHE Manager plays a key role in improving initiatives to achieve this objective.

The SHE Manager develops, oversees, coordinates and implements SHE programs, policies and processes. The SHE Manager advises the organization on the reduction of risks related to SHE, working out solutions via the indirect reporting network of SHE Specialists/Managers in our sites.

You will play an integral role in driving the strategy, creating objectives and plans for the company’s Health, Safety and Environment/ Sustainability.

Key Responsibilities include

 

  • Providing technical support to Senior Management on any safety related subjects.
  • Managing a variety of health, environmental, and safety activities to ensure that our organization is up-to-date and complies with internal and external HSE regulations, laws and standards
  • Being accountable for developing HSE governance processes including HSE audits, incident investigation and management reviews and to implement and execute them via the teams in different sites.
  • Coordinating resources to ensure that HSE aspects and requirements; including legal requirements, laws, permits and licenses which are affecting the facility, are fully understood and properly managed
  • Identifying and implementing HSE training and communication programs that clearly articulate to the BC strategy and safety expectations 
  • Building and implementing a HSE culture that  means developing a behavior that supports and promotes the mindset within management as well as shop floor
  • Providing technical expertise, identifying, motivating and coaching functional and operational managers
  • Being a vital voice in engineering and improvement projects, or performance improvement initiatives.
  • Providing Safety support and advice, including supervision on preparation of plans and procedures for initial contract start up activities.
  • Leading and giving guidelines to local SHE teams and BC site’s management
  • Developing and emphasizing behaviors, by improving safety empowerment and commitment on the shop floor and within the organization, as part of Continuous Improvement (CI), sharing safety leadership for creating additional value to the Company Performance, considering safety is the key for quality assets;
  • Supporting investigation and recommending actions for major SHE accidents (personal involvement);
  • Validating with site leadership action plans after audits where needed;
  • Ensuring that SHE accidents return on experience and best professional practices are shared inside the organization between sites as well within other regions (cooperate closely with Global SHE);
  • Ensuring timely RCA after accidents – develop a DMS on what is the max time
  • Working together with the operational sites and related departments to coordinate business resiliency/continuity planning to reduce impact on operations when disasters or any mission critical-impact event occurs (risk assessment skills).

 

 

About You

 

  • You have a Master Degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences /Engineering or Bachelor degree equivalent with additional professional qualifications and knowledge in HSE and Fire & Safety Management Systems.
  • You bring 10+ years of relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment of which at least 6 years in HSE and at least 4 years in a supervisory role on Regional Level - food industry experience is a plus
  • You have Project management experience
  • You have a good knowledge of all business processes and ability to anticipate on consequences
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a diverse environment with different cultural behaviors and very matrix organization
  • You are fluent in English

Willingness to travel on a regular base (±40%). The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license
