About the role

The process engineer Projects is part of the Process Technology team of the site. He/She reports into the Process Technology Manager who is part of the local management team.
The Process Engineer Projects focusses on project-based work particularly the implementation of new production lines, upgrading and modifying existing lines, introducing innovative working methods, and reallocation of equipment, lines and buildings . He/she actively contributes to the future design of the site and all of its departments. This is linked with the masterplan for the Wieze site, thus having an important impact on the future outlook of the site.
The Process Engineer Projects contributes to the continuous improvement of efficiency, quality, and sustainability within the production environment.
Additionally, he/she provides support to the operations managers and acts as an intermediary for engineering projects related to new installations or upgrades.

 

Key responsibilitilies include

● Is involved in the masterplan project for the site and thus has an important role in the future development of the whole site. These projects can be related with upgrades in safety, quality, capacity, efficiency etc. (Masterplan phase 1 = +/-150 M€)
● Makes the link to projects in other sites that have an impact on the projects and capacity in the Wieze site
● Acts as the link between operational teams and engineering for projects related to new installations or upgrades during the full project cycle. Including FAT/SAT, start up, ramp up, training… Is together with the project leader responsible for the efficiency, safety, quality, losses and environmental impact of the projects.
● Ensures that in the projects the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data within the production systems is incorporated..
● Analyzing existing production processes and proposing improvements and make sure these are incorporated into the new projects
● Implementing new technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
● Collaborating with departments such as production, maintenance, and quality to optimize processes.
● Drafting and managing work instructions and project documentation.
● Ensuring, together with the project team, compliance with safety, quality, and hygiene standards across all projects.
● Provides support to operational teams (operations managers, team leaders, operators) in case of issues and assists them in achieving the desired results.
● Safeguards process knowledge:

o Monitors developments within the production department;
o Stays informed about new process technologies;
o Shares knowledge and experience;
o Provides information or training regarding the production process to employees;
o Ensures knowledge retention through POKA;

 

About you

● At least Master’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial). Lean or Six Sigma Black Belt is a clear advantage.
● Excellent knowledge of Dutch and advanced proficiency in English (understanding, speaking, writing)
● You have good knowledge of IT tools like Office, SAP, MAximo, Poka, technical drawing programs…

10 years of experience in Operations, R&D or Process Engineering in a food manufacturing environment.
● Good and in depth process knowledge about the full chocolate production process ‘from bean to bar’: cocoa preparation, liquid production and moulding.
● Experience in Change Management and Project Management (budget >10 M€) and process engineering in a production environment.
● You are a self-starter who can easily find his/her way and build a close-knitted working relationship with all key stakeholders at plant, regional and global level.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to bring structure in challenging situations
● Hands-on mentality and proactive approach.
