About the Role


The primary role of the Lead Accounting Belgium is to manage and perform accounting activities in accordance with group-wide principles and standards, overseeing Barry Callebaut Belgium (BE01) and Barry Callebaut Services (BE02). This role documents and reviews the financial statements/positions of the Belgian entities (BE01 and BE02) to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, as well as reporting requirements.


Key Responsibilities Include


The main responsibilities of the position are:

  • Supervising the adherence to accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with all international and local regulations and company policies for the most important Belgian entities (BE01 and BE02).
  • Securing compliance to direct taxes both regional and local in close collaboration with corporate taxes to manage successfully the end-goal.

The main roles of the position are:

  • Acting as main partner of the Manager Accounting & Tax Compliance Western Europe by supporting the accounting and tax related decision-making for the important Belgian entities.
  • Providing the right information to the Belgian Workers Council.
  • Acting as “spokesman” to regional and local third parties, e.g. auditors, taxes, lawyers, … for the Belgian entities (BE01 and BE02).


About You


  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar
  • English business proficiency (written and spoken)
  • Technical proficiency (e.g. SAP – ERP systems)
  • Extensive experience in finance with an emphasis on accounting
  • Experience in IFRS reporting and local statutory reporting
  • Knowledge of accounting, controlling and financial methodologies, and reporting
  • Analytical / hands-on / flexible / solutions oriented
