About the role
The lab technician is part of the Global QA Analytics team, working in the quality lab in Wieze. The global lab team analyses samples from all Barry Callebaut sites across the world, supporting several departments. The lab technician will conduct physico-chemical analyses, take care of further data-analysis if applicable, and report the results.
Key responsibilities include
- Perform routine and more specialized methods to test the physical and/or chemical properties/specifications of raw materials and finished products.
- Use different instruments to perform the above-mentioned tests: NIR, laser diffraction, spectrophotometry, GC analysis, HPLC analysis, NMR, or other relevant equipment.
- Record results in LIMS, verify data accuracy, and support reporting for internal stakeholders.
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
- Control the performance of the methods by running and evaluating control samples.
- Follow safety protocols and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and 5S.

- Local Quality departments from all Barry Callebaut locations in complaint handling,
- Global Supplier Quality team in approving new raw material

About you
- Bachelor Degree in Laboratory Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- English – intermediate
- Experience with standard laboratory techniques and instrumentation (HPLC, GC, NIR, ...)
- Proficiency with digital tools such as LIMS, Excel, or data‑entry systems.
- Understanding of quality systems, safety procedures, and good laboratory practice.
- Ability to work accurately, independently, and under time pressure.
