About the role

The Global Supplier Quality analyst is the first in line to carry out a substantive assessment for the quality selection and evaluation of suppliers, raw materials, packaging materials, suppliers and semi-finished products. This is necessary to worldwide and continuously: 1. Select and evaluate suppliers and their products from a quality perspective. 2. Ensure food safety and meet the requirements set by the customer and legislator on the supply chain. 3. To have correct, validated and complete information available for development, purchase, logistics, production and sales; and to have the administration between teams within Barry Callebaut and those with third parties run smoothly, for example with the help of specifications. 4. To make all this work as efficient as possible with the aid of risk analyses and using procedures and instructions. An analyst is responsible for several categories of raw materials, for which he / she independently carries out the work and takes decisions, as long as these fall within the set frameworks.

 

Key responsibilities include

- The Global Supplier Quality analyst is the first contact for its own categories in the GRVA team, for:

  • Answering questions from internal customers or external customers
  •  Assessing applications for new raw materials, semi-finished products, packaging materials and / or suppliers; or changes to it.
  •  Assesses at the start and at any moment of the process whether he / she deals with this type of questions or whether it escalates to the expert.
  • Evaluates, negotiates and qualifies materials and suppliers according to standard processes and using their own knowledge and expertise. Collects and interprets technical data on raw materials, semi-finished products and packaging materials and assigns a status (approval, rejection, approval subject to conditions).
  • Assigns risk profiles to the right raw material or carries out risk analyses on the basis of the instructions and on the basis of their own knowledge and expertise.
  • Determines whether analysis of samples is required.
  • Guides the logistical process for the samples (request, delivery) and evaluates the results. 
  • If necessary, fill in forms for materials and suppliers and continually assess the information here for completeness and correctness, and further prepare the creation forms for processing in the SAP system.
  • Is responsible for making the right legal descriptions available on the labels of Barry Callebaut's end products within the required legislation.
  • Assigns existing inspection plans to materials and suppliers.
  • Is responsible for the administration and maintenance of specifications and questionnaire, administration and maintenance of certificates on raw materials, such as Kosher, Halal, or GFSI, from the moment the management support upscale this in connection with substantive discussions or technical complexity.
  • Administration of the global statements relating to selection and evaluation of suppliers.
  • Administrative support when requesting data from suppliers.
  • Assignment of inspection plans.
  • Setting up and maintaining the work instructions that describe their own activities, even if this exceeds their own categories, and on the basis of the guidelines within Barry Callebaut.
  • Participates in (improvement) projects that touch their own areas of expertise
  • Can replace the GRVA management support during short-term absence.
  • Trains other colleagues worldwide in their own activities.

 

About you

- Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics, agro- and biotechnology, chemistry or related fields, or a similar level obtained through a combination of education and experience.

- Has knowledge of food, their composition and production method and microbiology.

- Has gained 2 years or more experience in the food industry and / or food trade or related markets.

- Has knowledge about food safety, HACCP, food legislation.

- Is trained or has gained experience in working in and with quality systems, such as BRC, GMP, ISO and / or FSSC

- Fluent in English – you are able to express yourself well and correspond perfectly or English is your mother tongue

- Knowledge of Russian is a plus
