About the Role
Barry Callebaut Digital (BC Digital) is on a mission to lead the digital revolution in the chocolate industry, and we're looking for a Data Domain Manager, to help us build a foundation for actionable insights based on well-governed data. Reporting to the Director of Data Governance, Strategy & Design, you will oversee 1-4 of our data domains, defining requirements and designing policies for the effective and compliant use of our data assets. You will cooperate closely with stakeholders from business and digital, to understand their requirements and lay the foundation for secure and high-quality data at Barry Callebaut.
Key Responsibilities Include
The candidate will:
- Oversee 1-4 of our data domains, ensuring compliance with governance and quality standards
- Define data requirements and guidelines for data usage, including classification per policy levels, AI ethical use
- Establish guidelines for data access, quality assessments, and regulatory compliance
- Foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders from digital and business, ensuring compliant and effective data usage
- Create and maintain processes that monitor and enforce data governance policies
- Identify and mitigate risks and vulnerabilities associated with data security and compliance
- Identify opportunities for improving data management processes, workflows, and systems
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to harmonize, standardize and simplify the data models & data values globally
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to agree on KPIs for respective data domains, define data lineage and data quality rules that globalize, standardize and improve the KPIs
- Support the company to define and implement respective data roles in different business units
- Create the roadmap for respective domains on business glossary & data product implementation, documentation, and usage
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to align per respective data domains on the roadmap to set up proper data governance to improve KPIs, transactional data, analytics, and AI use cases
- Being a partner on data discussions for C/C-1 level in the organization
About You
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including managing multi-cultural, dispersed teams in senior roles
- Advanced understanding of data governance processes and frameworks, with a minimum of 5 years of experience
- Deep data knowledge in at least one data domain - at least 10 years of experience
- Good understanding of data management and metadata management processes
- Extensive experience in governing data assets, including the usage of data quality tools
- Proficiency in database management, including SQL
- Good problem-solving skills and a structured way of working
- The ability to bring people together and mobilize individuals to pursue a joint agenda
- Good written and verbal communication skills, being able to communicate problems to non-technical audiences
- Ability to connect to C-levels and create data roadmaps for respective domains
