About the Role
The role of the Accounting & Reporting Analyst consists of two parts:
- Perform accounting activities for Belgian BC entities in accordance with group-wide & national accounting principles and standards within the assigned scope. This role documents and reviews the organization’s financial statements/positions to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, as well as reporting requirements. You will often answer questions of colleagues of other departments concerning the accounting of your business entity. Therefore it is key to know your business thoroughly. This function gets guidance and support from the Manager Accounting &Tax Compliance WE - on complex activities, ad hoc requests, as well as key issues in the execution of duties.
- Deepdive in the inventory reporting. There is a whole team dedicated to Inventory Management/Reporting. You will support this team on looking at Inventory Reporting from the accounting perspective. You will dive deeper into the way stock calculations are made, the way stock is reported and if this represents the actual value. Furthermore, you will check the processes and have close collaboration with the Inventory Teams.
Key Responsibilities Include
Within this role, the main activities consist of the following:
- Prepare financial statements, close the books, and prepare the necessary paperwork for financial reporting purposes
- Consolidate/prepare the reporting of financial entities and produce compliant internal as well as external reporting
- Govern the quality, consistency, and integrity of financials
- Develop, deploy, and ensure compliance with accounting policies as well as directives
- Decide on the accounting treatment of individual complex issues (judgment-based perspective)
- Oversee internal control frameworks and ensure the design efficiency as well as operating effectiveness of internal controls
- Consult with various Finance and IM / IT committees to anticipate and address potential accounting issues
- Develop and share accounting expertise as well as knowledge
- Manage service level agreements with Shared Services and drive the quality of end-to-end accounting processes together with Shared Services Build, maintain, and coordinate relationships with external stakeholders as well as the finance community
About You
- Bachelor’s / Master’s in Finance, Accounting, or similar
- English business proficiency (written and spoken)
- Technical proficiency (e.g., SAP – ERP systems)
- Minimum of 3 years experience in finance with an emphasis on accounting. Preferably in a general accounting role.
- Experience in a multinational company, preferably in B2B / food industries
- Knowledge of accounting, controlling and financial methodologies, and reporting
- Analytical/hands-on / flexible / solutions oriented
