The Sales Forecasting Analyst reviews and analyzes the commercial forecast against customer forecasts, past sales performance, and production and supplier performance, to create the most accurate sales forecast.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, run analytics on invoicing vs. forecast, and evaluate forecast results

  • Work directly with the sales team and customers to collect and analyze customer inputs and develops the sales forecast for the S&OP process

  • Perform complex data analysis from a variety of sources with a strong emphasis on providing actionable insights

  • Create high quality analytics and translate them into value added sales decisions and actions for leadership

  • Provide guidance and support to Demand and Supply Chain Analysts

  • Facilitating improvements in existing processes

  • Drive innovation and experimentation to find new best practices in sales forecast planning

  • Develop metrics that measure forecast accuracy with the aim of presenting this information to customers, both internal and/or external

  • The Sales Forecast Planner works with sales and marketing, demand planning and OSCO to ensure accurate sales forecasts and new opportunity launches

  • Lead and implement the Salesforce forecasting tools

  • Support BU's opportunity management and prioritization initiatives by bringing them to the forefront of the leadership team

  • Leverage data in business prioritization

  • Support demand shaping business activities with commercial perspectives

  • Support execution of sku rationalization initiatives ensuring customers have depleted contracts, traded into new items as necessary

  • Assist in contract execution from a commercial perspective

  • Cross functionally present quantitative and qualitative sales assumptions on new launches, new business, and lost business

  • Activate commercial strategies to align with business objectives

About you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate discipline

  • 3+ years of industry-related experience

  • Extensive Knowledge of Commercial Planning and Supply Chain Management is required

  • Must have strong analytical skills including advanced use of Salesforce, APO, SAP suite, Microsoft office, specifically Excel

  • Motivated self-starter with ability to manage deliverables with limited supervision in a dynamic, fast paced environment

  • Problem-solver mentality with strong critical thinking skills
