Our position Micro Lab Technician based in Novi Sad, Serbia:

Our position, Micro Lab Technician, conducts daily Microbiological analysis of incoming/outgoing materials and finished goods samples and other in-process Quality checks. The incumbent organizes, updates, analyzes and reports the results in both written and verbal form to the QA Manager and other QA Team members.


Description of Tasks:

  • Carrying out in-process and finished goods sampling in/out the premises for analysis
  • Carrying out quality checks to ensure compliance with Barry Callebaut and customer requirements
  • Informing and liaising with Production on the Quality status during the process control analysis
  • Preparing microbiological samples and all necessary consumables for analysis
  • Prepares, maintains, and performs quality control testing of all laboratory media used for the growth and propagation of microorganisms
  • Analyzing samples following all Barry Callebaut Protocols and GLP Practices
  • Operates scientific equipment such as: autoclave, analytical balance, PCR, pH meter and other
  • Assisting in samples preparation of daily Sensory evaluation
  • Calibrating and maintaining laboratory analytical instruments
  • Maintaining good housekeeping and ensuring the Safety in the working area
  • Assisting in preparing Certificate of Analysis for product delivered to customers
  • Inventories, orders, receives and stocks materials, supplies, and equipment for laboratory use
  • Collects and properly processes biohazard waste
  • Participates in Barry Callebaut Laboratory proficiency testing and implement required corrective actions
  • Respect Food Safety Quality systems and other implemented standards requests
  • Carries out trend analysis and statistical data review to identify opportunities to drive improvement
  • Executes and follow up corrective actions and verify effectiveness of implemented measures in  Laboratory environment
  • Carryies out inspection on packaging and secondary raw materials if needed
  • Assisting in other QA activities when necessary
  • Performs related duties as required


Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology or Food Science
  • 2+ years of experience in advanced microbiological techniques
  • Solid knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures
  • Knowledge of Food safety and HACCP principles in Food industry
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite and SAP
  • Minimum intermediate level of English
  • Native in Serbian
