We are looking for a Sales Manager Cocoa (m/w/d) DACH/Europe Central Region, based in Germany.


In the EMEA region, within the Business Unit Cocoa, he/she will be expected to lead, organize, coordinate, execute and control all sales activities related to the cocoa powder portfolio in order to achieve short and long term business objectives of the sub-region Europe Central. 


Scope and Accountabilities

  • Commercial accountability to reach margin & volume targets of the sub-region Europe Central for the cocoa powder portfolio, across customers’ segments.
  • Define and lead the execution of the short to mid term business plan for the markets under your responsibility.
  • Functional responsibility on the sales teams in the markets of the sub-region in order to set and achieve commercial goals. Provide guidance to implement the Cocoa strategy, by sharing frequent updates, and build proximity to ensure leverage of existing local resources.
  • Actively develop and lead/participate in the maintenance of strategic customers’ relationships and area distributors/agents, as well as drive acquisition of new customers. Ultimately, be a driving force for sustainable growth in your area of responsibility.
  • Drive development and innovation projects pipeline in close cooperation with the Customer R&D function, Marketing and the Cocoa Excellence Center, with the aim to selectively develop market shares.
  • Become an expert on our products and their applications. Become an expert in the market dynamics. Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to your internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate and control interactions with other relevant supporting functions (pricing, contract management, planning/supply chain, production, quality, sourcing, customer care and sales support) in order to optimize service level to customers and maximize business performance.
  • Participate in the Western European Sales Strategy for cocoa powder and its applications, by gathering and compiling relevant market insights.
  • The sub region Europe Central includes following markets: DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), Europe Central (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Baltics).
  • Direct lead on Distribution partners in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Baltics, Hungary.



  • University Degree or Similar, ideally in business administration or food science
  • More than 7 years of sales/commercial experience, ideally in the food/commodity industry
  • Preferably solid knowledge on Cocoa Terminal markets and cocoa products or alternatively in other commodities
  • Fluent in German & English, any other languages (spoken in the sub-region) is a strong asset
  • Hands-on, “can do” mentality, with good sense of self-initiative and autonomy
  • Well organized, excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to lead without authority
  • Willingness to travel 60%
