To strengthen customer relationships and drive growth with some of the company’s most strategic accounts in the DACH region, we are seeking an experienced Key Account Manager. This role focuses on developing and maintaining long-term partnerships, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction through tailored product and service solutions.
Responsibilities

Oversee assigned industrial accounts to achieve sales targets.

Manage direct supplies to key accounts to maximize business performance.

Identify, develop, and close new and existing sales opportunities.

Create demand for products and services by increasing their visibility among customers.

Monitor customer activity, competitor actions, and industry trends.

Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders in customer and prospect organizations.

Expand the customer portfolio by developing new customers, products, and markets.

Maximize sales volumes, margins, and customer profitability.

Research prospective accounts and map potential institutional customers across relevant industries.

Identify new markets and address their needs through existing or customized products in collaboration with Marketing, Quality, and Supply Planning teams.

Support Customer Service to ensure timely delivery of goods.

Provide insights to Marketing and R&D regarding new product opportunities and competitor activities.

Stay informed about critical market trends and developments in the DACH region and provide timely feedback to management.

Participate in regular status and strategy meetings with senior customer management.

Execute sales plans to protect, grow, and diversify relationships with targeted accounts.
Your Profile

University degree or higher federal diploma in the food industry and/or economics.

Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in the sweet food or food ingredients industry.

Experience in Key Account Management or Institutional Business.

Fluent in English and German.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong experience with CRM tools (preferably Salesforce).

Solid numerical and financial understanding.

Basic understanding of legal concepts in a business environment.

Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.

Skilled at motivating teams within a matrix organization.

Additional Information
-
Home office possible; presence in the Cologne office preferred (minimum 2–3 days per week).

Frequent travel required (up to 50%), mainly within the DACH region and occasionally within Europe.
