About the role

  • The new European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) ensures that seven commodity products, including cocoa and palm oil, are no longer sold in the EU if sourced from areas affected by deforestation or forest degradation practices.
  • The IM support will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with EUDR by managing the API connection with the EU Information System and providing technical support to the EU Deforestation Data Processing team responsible for the process of reporting Due Diligence Statement (DDS) to the EU Information System. This role demands highly developed technical expertise, programming skills, troubleshooting and problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset.

 

Key responsibilities include

  • Monitor and Maintain API Connections: Continuously monitor the API connection with the EU Information System to ensure it functions correctly and efficiently.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve performance or availability issues promptly to ensure timely creation and management of DDS, following the requirements of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
  • API Configuration and Management: Ensure the configuration, deployment, and management of other API connections between the EU Information System and Barry Callebaut’s systems, where required.
  • Performance Analysis and Optimization: Analyze and optimize API performance by identifying bottlenecks and proposing improvements for greater efficiency.
  • Security Implementation: Implement and monitor security measures to secure the API connection.
  • Integration and Collaboration: Work with the central Digital and development teams to ensure seamless integration of the EU Deforestation Data Processing team into Barry Callebaut’s systems and software.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to the EU Deforestation Data Processing team.
  • Documentation and Training: Create and maintain detailed technical & functional documentation and provide training and continuous support to users.
  • SAP Process Orchestrator Integration: Ensure API service consumption of SAP Process Orchestrator using REST that publishes DDS reference numbers into SAP as well as DDS security tokens.
  • Debugging and Log Analysis: Support debugging and log analysis of all API interactions to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
  • Collaboration with AMS: Work hand in hand with the official production environment support team (AMS). Communicate and align with AMS at all times to ensure all errors, issues, and improvements are quickly picked up and addressed.
  • Travel requirements: 10%

 

About you

  • Education: University degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or similar.
  • Experience: 7-10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve API-related issues.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as API management, security certifications, or cloud certifications.
  • Multicultural Environment: Ability to operate in a multicultural environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Language: Fluent knowledge of English.
  • IT Support and API Management: Previous experience in IT support and API management.
  • API Expertise: Proficient in SOAP and REST APIs (including design, implementation, and maintenance).
  • Azure Functions: Experience with Azure Functions.
  • API Security: Understanding of API security protocols.
  • Integration Tools: Familiarity with integration platforms and tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar.
  • Data Visualization: Proficient in data visualization tools and software, such as Excel and Power BI.
  • MS Office Suite: Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • SAP Integration: Experience with integrating APIs with SAP systems, particularly using SAP Process Orchestrator.
  • Debugging and Log Analysis: Strong skills in debugging and log analysis for API interactions.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to communicate and align with support teams to ensure issues and improvements are promptly addressed.
  • Proven resilience and ability to overcome obstacles and deliver results.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in an extremely high volume/fast-paced environment.
