About the role

  • Barry Callebaut Digital (BC Digital) is on a mission to lead the digital revolution in the chocolate industry, and we're looking for an EDI Lead responsible for the design, implementation, and management of EDI solutions to facilitate seamless and efficient data exchange with our business partners. This role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external trading partners to ensure compliance with EDI standards and protocols. You will guide relevant stakeholders by supporting a forward-looking strategy with your subject matter expertise. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. In addition, you will drive and oversee the creation of architectural blueprints, review the implementation of user stories in line with the solution design and guidelines, and support the creation of tender documents. You will evaluate architectural changes and contribute to the further development of EDI processes and standards within BC to enhance our EDI capabilities.

 

Key responsibilities include

  • Lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of EDI solutions and processes; Create EDI designs according to best practices in compliance with technological and strategic requirements as well as our internal Enterprise Architecture guidelines
  • Develop and implement a streamlined EDI support model to ensure seamless integration and consistent performance across all EDI operations, while driving the expansion of EDI usage to increase business productivity
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and trading partners to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Ensure seamless and secure data flow between internal and external SAP and non-SAP systems in line with the solution design and guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements; Carry out risk and problem analysis, create technical specifications and support the implementation of security measures and standards
  • Maintain and update EDI documentation, including mapping specifications, process flows, and guidelines
  • Monitor and troubleshoot EDI transactions to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and timely processing; Perform code quality reviews of EDI implementations according to best practices
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the Integration Services team and other relevant departments; Provide SME support where required; and function as a project lead for EDI-related projects (e.g. EDI deployment with new 3PLs and new global customer onboarding)
  • Oversee and steer relationships with external partners, ensuring their services and solutions align with our EDI objectives and standards, and facilitate effective communication and collaboration
  • Stay updated with the latest EDI technologies and integration best practices and drive and oversee innovation within your area
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives of SAAS and On-Prem solutions to improve the quality and cost efficiency of services
  • Develop EDI effectiveness and efficiency KPIs and drive continuous improvement

 

About you

  • Graduate degree in IT/technology, computer science, engineering, business administration or a comparable field
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years of experience managing a global EDI operations team
  • Deep knowledge of EDI or similar fields incl. creating and leading IT system integration processes, regularly evaluating the system architecture, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT, ODETTE etc.) and communication protocols (AS2, FTP, SFTP, etc.)
  • Proven track record of managing EDI projects and integrations in a B2B environment
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and their integration with EDI solutions, preferably SAP S/4HANA and other SAP modules
  • Strong technical skills in EDI tools and platforms, such as IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, GXS, or similar
  • Demonstrated success in driving change collaboratively on a global scale; Acting as SME where required
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners; Skills to create internal and external partnerships/networks across the organization with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Independent and self-driven personality with strong analytical skills and techniques
  • Exhibits a passion for digital technology and innovation, constantly seeking new and creative solutions to enhance processes, decision-making and user experiences
