About the role:

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and quality of financial data through effective data management and governance practices. The Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, IT, and compliance, to drive data governance initiatives and contribute to data-driven decision-making processes within the organization.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementation of financial data governance, standards and policies, including consistency and accuracy of financial data across different systems and sources, globally
  • Data Gov
    • Develop and implement data governance strategies, policies, and procedures specific to finance data.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define data quality standards and ensure adherence to them.
    • Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, including data dictionaries, data lineage, and metadata management processes.
    • Lead the implementation of financial data governance initiatives across the organization
    • Govern and maintain the integrity of financial master data (in SAP and across other relevant systems) as per defined blueprints.
  • Data Analysis:
    • Conduct in-depth analysis of finance data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, offering insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
    • Perform data profiling and data cleansing activities to enhance data accuracy and consistency.
    • Collaborate with finance teams to identify data requirements and translate business needs into actionable data-driven solutions.
    • Develop and maintain data models, data mapping, and data transformation rules.
  • Data Management:
    • Oversee the data management lifecycle for finance data, including data sourcing, collection, integration, and maintenance.
    • Assist in the design and implementation of data governance tools and technologies to support data management processes.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations, such as GDPR or CCPA, in relation to finance data.
    • Identify opportunities to automate data management processes and optimize data workflows.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and security of finance data systems.
  • Partner with compliance teams to ensure data governance practices align with regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with finance teams to understand their reporting and analytical needs, and provide support in data-related initiatives.

 

About you:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science or a related field
  • At least 6 -7 years of relevant experience in Financial Planning and Analysis and / or Accounting in a multinational environment, preferably in commodities, manufacturing or FMCG
  • Solid SAP knowledge is a must. Especially familiarity with financial master data and processes that impact financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and regulations (e.g., SOX)
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite especially with Microsoft Excel is required
  • Familiarity with SAP BW, BO, data modeling and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is desirable
  • Experience with data management tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica) is desirable.
