About the role

  • The new European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) ensures that seven commodity products, including cocoa and palm oil, are no longer sold in the EU if sourced from areas affected by deforestation or forest degradation practices.
  • As a DDS Continuous Improvement specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring Barry Callebaut's compliance with the EUDR by improving the Due Diligence Statement (DDS) reporting process. You will lead efforts to enhance the efficiency, productivity, and overall performance of the EU Deforestation data exception handling team. Your primary focus is on analyzing and improving existing processes, internal interactions and escalation flows within the company to optimize operations and increase the productivity of the EU Deforestation data exception handling team.

 

Key responsibilities include

  • Data Analysis: analyze performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), conduct root cause analysis to address underlying issues
  • Best practices: stay updated on the EU Deforestation Regulation and its operational impact, implement industry best practices
  • Process improvement: identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement, develop and implement strategies for process optimization
  • Collaboration: work with cross-functional teams to align improvement efforts, engage and communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Change management: lead change initiatives, provide training and coaching on new processes and tools, monitor and assess the effectiveness of implemented changes
  • Travel requirements: 15%

 

About you

  • University degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
  • 7-10+ years of experience in leading operational teams or managing projects in the areas of process streamlining and data cleansing
  • Familiar with process improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma, Certified Continuous Improvement Professional,...)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record in leading change
  • Ability to operate in a multicultural environment
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Fluent knowledge of English
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Proficient in data visualization tools and software, such as Excel and Power BI
  • Ability to work with large datasets and perform data cleansing and transformation
