Production Planner

About the role:
The Production Planner is responsible for all planning activities prior to the start of production — including material planning, capacity planning and operations scheduling — ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled on time and within agreed lead times. The role requires an end‑to‑end understanding of the business, coordination across multiple stakeholders, and continuous optimization of production resources to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
They work closely with procurement and provide mutual coverage during absence periods.
Key responsibilities:
- Schedule production orders based on lead times, capacities, efficiencies, available materials and workforce.
- Plan and control order releases, inventory levels and safety stocks in collaboration with Purchasing.
- Provide accurate input for capacity planning and maintain planning parameters (MRP/MPS).
- Communicate planning status and disruptions to Customer Care, Purchasing, supervisors and operators.
- Coordinate with subcontractors regarding products, deliveries, transportation and inventory.
- Reschedule open orders when needed and solve material shortage issues proactively.
- Join daily production meetings and ensure smooth flow of materials through all processes.
- Analyze and revise planning factors regularly with Master Data.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent through combined education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and ERP systems; Business Central experience highly preferred.
- Good level of English; basic French is an asset.
- Analytical and structured mindset, with strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills — clear, frequent and open communication style.
- Customer‑centric approach and positive attitude.
- Proactive, assertive, able to work both independently and in a team.
- Capable of handling stress, resolving conflicts and adapting to new ideas.
- End‑to‑end mindset — understands machine capabilities, ERP flows and customer requirements.
