At Barry Callebaut, we are shaping the future of chocolate and cocoa. Behind every product, there are people – and behind every payslip, there is precision, trust, and expertise. To strengthen our HR team in Hamburg, we are looking for a Payroll Specialist (m/w/d) who enjoys taking ownership, works with high accuracy, and values collaboration across teams.

 

Your Impact (Responsibilities)

In this role, you ensure that our employees are paid accurately and on time – every month. You will take ownership of payroll processes across two sites and contribute to a reliable and compliant payroll environment.

  • Own and manage the monthly payroll process for approx. 250 employees across two locations (in collaboration with an external provider)
  • Maintain and oversee time tracking in ATOSS
  • Ensure compliance with German labor, tax, and social security regulations as well as collective agreements
  • Act as a trusted contact for employees and managers on payroll and time management topics
  • Prepare reports and analyses for HR and Finance
  • Coordinate with external partners, authorities, and social security institutions
  • Support and continuously improve payroll and HR processes

 

Your Profile

You bring structure into complexity and feel comfortable working with sensitive data.

  • Completed degree or vocational training in HR, Payroll, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll processing
  • Good knowledge of German labor law, tax, and social security regulations
  • Experience with ATOSS or similar time tracking systems is a plus
  • Fluent German and communicative English skills
  • Experience with shift models and allowances is an advantage
  • High level of accuracy, reliability, and confidentiality
  • Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
  • Confident user of MS Office
