About the role

We are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant Germany to lead end-to-end accounting, financial reporting, and compliance activities for our German operations. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely IFRS and statutory reporting, maintaining compliance with local regulations and Group standards, and driving continuous improvement across accounting processes.

You will act as a key finance partner, collaborating closely with Shared Services, Finance teams, auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure the integrity and quality of financial information. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the implementation of a standardized Finance Target Operating Model within an international business environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly, half-year, and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate IFRS and statutory reporting.
  • Oversee tax accounting, balance sheet reviews, and compliance with local regulations and internal controls.
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial data and reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with Global Business Services and Finance teams on accounting-related activities and process improvements.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and other key stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support finance transformation projects.
  • Provide accounting expertise and guidance across the organization.

 

Your profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in accounting and finance, including extensive exposure to IFRS and statutory reporting.
  • Experience working within a multinational organization; experience in B2B and/or food industry environments is considered an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, tax accounting, and internal controls.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced international environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive and continuous improvement attitude.
  • High level of integrity and professional ethics.
