About the role:
The Facility Manager (Non‑Technical) reports to the Technical Manager and is responsible for keeping the BC Halle infrastructure in optimal condition. Waste management, work clothing, catering, and porter services also fall under this function. This is a broad, dynamic role with direct impact on environmental policy and daily operations. The position leads a large team, coordinates contractors, ensures compliance with safety and GMP standards, and drives continuous improvement across all facility-related processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitor planning and daily activities of the internal BC team and external contractors.
- Ensure infrastructure and facility works are efficiently planned and coordinated.
- Manage stock of work clothing and cleaning products; monitor supplier contracts, orders and payments.
- Develop cleaning schedules and maintenance plans aligned with BC global standards; evaluate both regularly.
- Ensure proper waste flow, collection, regulatory compliance and cost‑efficient waste policies.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, propose solutions, lead improvement projects, and hold regular team briefings.
- Prepare reports on material and parts consumption, provide KPI dashboards, monitor budgets and identify optimization opportunities.
- Perform daily administration; create and digitize work instructions and technical data sheets.
- Ensure all team members and contractors follow safety and GMP rules; intervene when necessary.\
- Facilitate onboarding, training, coaching and development for staff. Identify training needs and implement training plans.
- Prepare evaluation reports, support HR with salary growth and role appointment processes.
- Organize daily work distribution based on workload and staff competencies; manage leave and planning continuity.
- Motivate and inspire team members; provide regular feedback; conduct annual performance reviews.
- Follow up on absenteeism; conduct return‑to‑work meetings and report to HR.
About you:
- Technical Bachelor’s degree (Industrial Engineering, Building, Infrastructure) or equivalent experience.
- Strong leadership skills; ability to motivate, guide, correct and mentor team members.
- Excellent communication skills (persuading, informing, consulting) with internal and external stakeholders. Strong technical insight, analytical mindset and ability to distinguish priorities clearly.
- Result‑oriented, autonomous, organized, and skilled in planning.
- Experience with occupational safety, food safety, GMP, ISO and quality standards.
- Knowledge of infrastructure, construction methods, production processes and failure analyses; able to manage preventive and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
- Strong IT proficiency: Windows, Excel, Word, Google, SAP, Maximo (expert), Coupa.
- Problem‑solving mindset; creative thinking with attention to detail.
- Ability to coach and develop individuals; maintain overview even in complex situations.
- Helpful, reliable, solution‑oriented; able to set priorities effectively.
