ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Buyer Indirect Spend, you will lead all indirect procurement activities across the local plant(s), covering both Opex and Capex spend. You will drive strategic sourcing initiatives and day-to-day purchasing operations, working closely with category managers and stakeholders to deliver cost-effective solutions aligned with business objectives. The role also includes leading and developing a team of buyers, managing supplier performance, driving savings initiatives, and ensuring continuous improvement, cost optimization, and risk mitigation.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIIES
- Manage indirect Opex and Capex spend across categories including processing equipment, utilities, civil works, and MRO.
- Drive cost savings through strategic sourcing initiatives and spot-buy optimization.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies in partnership with stakeholders to improve cost, quality, and supplier performance.
- Lead sourcing activities for CapEx and MRO projects, from planning through execution.
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to optimize specifications and support business objectives.
- Negotiate supplier agreements and commercial terms while ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
- Develop and monitor the local savings program, ensuring delivery against financial targets.
- Manage supplier performance, track procurement KPIs, and drive cost optimization and risk mitigation.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted business partner and promoting procurement best practices.
ABOUT YOU
- Fluent English (both spoken and written) required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, with a focus on indirect spend, including technical categories such as CapEx, MRO, utilities, and civil works.
- Proven experience in managing sourcing activities across technical categories
- Demonstrated success in leading sourcing projects, supplier negotiations, and contract management in a multi-site or matrixed environment.
- Experience in capital equipment procurement, including RFI/RFP processes, cost analysis, and supplier evaluation with solid understanding of procurement processes and total cost of ownership
- Prior experience in industries such as food processing, pharmaceuticals, or chemicals is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with digital procurement tools (e.g., Coupa, Maximo, SAP) and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of technical specifications and the ability to collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize sourcing outcomes.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build high-performing teams.
