The Regional Sensory Coordinator will be responsible for all the activities to ensure the sensory quality performance of Barry Callebaut in the LATAM region. The objective is to roll out the global sensory structure and procedures, guide and evaluate all sites to implement and sustain them to produce first time quality results. This position is also a key support for customer sensory requirements and alignments, product development, product optimization and issue troubleshooting for any internal or external requirements. The regional Sensory coordinator will ensure each production site is aligned with global sensory quality assurance program and systems .

 

Key responsibilities include: 

 

Lead the Sensory Quality Assurance Program in the LATAM region:

  • Set up the training program for taste to evaluate ingredients and finished products (procedures, methods, software program) in cooperation with the global sensory manager.
  • Train local sensory experts according to the global training program (procedures, methods, software program).
  • Follow up with local teams to ensure that taste is evaluated, monitored and reported as a quality parameter.
  • Provide support and advice to the European local sensory coordinators as the regional sensory expert (example: expired materials, raw material non-conformities and complaints).
  • Train and support the local sites with the sensory software program.

Coordination of sensory tests for internal and external customers:

  • Coordinate and/or conduct sensory tests for plants in the region in the event of insufficient capacity or expertise.
  • Regional point of contact for sensory for external customers and review, as needed, customer requirements related to sensory.

 

 About you:

  • Bachelor's Degree / Master’s Degree in Food Sciences or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in sensory evaluation within a consumer goods or food manufacturing environment
  • Conversational English skills (B2+)
  • Quality Systems and Food Safety certifications (HACCP, etc) - desirable
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to deliver clear, structured, and engaging presentations to diverse audiences
