The Supervisor, Sanitation is responsible for all activities necessary for sanitation and cleanliness throughout the manufacturing facility as well as non-food and recycling waste for the facility. Additionally, the Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for all initial training for all agency employees for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and related food safety programs. The primary focus includes implementing effective sanitation practices and waste control measures within the food production facility to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, create a clean and safe environment, and minimize waste.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for factory sanitation and cleanliness including exterior of the facility.
- Responsible for the organization and completion of all structure cleaning and implementation and compliance with the Eddystone Master Sanitation Program.
- Appropriate application of pest control and programs.
- Support manufacturing regarding equipment and master sanitation schedule for cleaning as well as all appropriate paperwork.
- Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of chemical programs.
- Responsible for overseeing and implementing sanitation practices and waste control measures within our food production facility to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, maintain a clean and safe environment, and minimize waste
- Organize swabbing for the installment of new equipment and weekly factory swabbing programs
- Inventory cleaning supplies and sanitation chemicals and place cost-efficient orders as needed.
- Prepare and track assigned budgets. Responsible for the Cost Control and Budget for the Sanitation / Waste Cost Center related
- Responsible for food and employee safety, GMPs, as well as meeting all regulatory requirements for both.
- Work as the contact point in production for the sanitation crew and quality team and attend sanitation meetings as needed
- Audit the daily cleaning process and provide feedback for improvement
- Oversees the contracted cleaning company to comply with all OSHA standards and pertinent work instructions
- Review and create cleaning procedures and keep up to date with the cleaning master plan schedule.
- Implement waste reduction strategies to minimize environmental impact and optimize resource utilization.
- Monitor waste streams, segregate waste types, and ensure proper disposal methods are followed.
- Collaborate with waste disposal vendors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal waste management regulations.
- Develop and maintain records of waste generation, disposal, and recycling activities.
- Oversee workstation design and use in all production areas.
- Ensure all Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices are followed.
- Confirm all appropriate training is complete and current for sanitation staff to ensure proper cleaning techniques and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Ensure the facility's compliance with food safety standards and regulations, including HACCP, FDA, and other relevant guidelines.
About you:
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Minimum of five years experience working in a food manufacturing environment.

- Prepare and submit regular reports on sanitation and waste control activities to management and regulatory authorities.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and stretch to view all areas of the facility as well as climb ladders and move comfortably around the entire facility.
- Exposure to excessive noise, heat, cold and dust.
- Some mild chemical exposure.
