Controls Technician

About the role:
This position will be responsible for all aspects related to the factory maintenance and E&A strategy and will execute activities according to factory and corporate standards, specifications, local codes, and regulations. The technician will support the development and design of future system installations.
Key responsibilities include:
● Provide technical support to plant floor operations during unscheduled downtime in relation to control-related/electrical problems.
● Perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs.
● trouble shoot PLC and HMI-based control systems
● Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate instrumentation such as temperature sensors, pressure sensors, level switches, valve actuators and positioners and weighting systems.
● Configure, test, and troubleshoot VFDs.
● Enforce PLC/HMI policy/procedures.
● Document system modifications in order to maintain an accurate registry of modifications.
About you:
● Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical degree
● At least 3 [EM1] years of related automation experience with general control systems
● Experience in the food industry is a plus.
● Experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs
● Read and interpret electrical diagrams, P&ID schematics, and control blueprints
● Working knowledge of PLC,HMI and SCADA automation systems
● Working Knowledge of Industrial Communication Networks (Profibus, AS-I bus, Ethernet TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP)
● Understanding of industrial power circuits up to 480VAC, installation practices, and general OSHA safety practices.
● Understand the plant electrical criteria, standards and company guidelines.
