The Level 2 Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing intermediate-level maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing equipment, machinery, and facilities. This role involves more complex technical work and requires a higher level of expertise to ensure the efficient production of chocolate products. The ideal candidate is skilled, reliable, and dedicated to maintaining optimal operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and advanced maintenance tasks on chocolate production equipment and facilities.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose more complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
- Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance projects and equipment installations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members and departments to improve overall operational efficiency.
- Generate work orders, complete work orders, and close work orders using a computerized maintenance management system/ Maximo.
- Provide guidance and support to Level 1 Maintenance Technicians.
- Participate in training programs to stay updated on the latest maintenance practices and technologies.
- Committed to providing a safe food product.
- Ability to adhere to GMP practices and all other food safety requirements.
About you:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance or related field.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining records and accessing information.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if required.
- Technical certification or vocational training in a relevant field. (Desirable experience).
- Experience with maintenance management software (Maximo). (Desirable experience).
- Familiarity with food production equipment and processes. (Desirable experience).
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and practices. (Desirable experience).
