R&D Technologist

About the role:
The R&D Technologist supports customer projects under the supervision of the R&D PE Specialists and completes all data in the project database concerning lab samples produced and sent, can write formulas, lead sensory analysis, etc. This position will be required to fully understand the manufacturing process and the impact that various formulations and physical parameters have on processing.
Working hours: Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Key responsibilities include:
- Send these samples to the customer with the correct specification and accompanying shipment documentation.
- Compile and analyze the results obtained in the production of the samples produced on the pilot equipment.
- Assist Project Leads in the development of new formulations, management of existing recipes, and management of customer projects.
- Use the data collection system to enter information related to the projects and samples produced.
- Maintains full understanding of R&D processes, tools, and databases.
- Manage the inventory of raw materials in the R&D Department.
- Participate actively in the different projects with the R&D Team.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Ensure proper care and maintenance of the lab equipment.
- Formulate within legal requirements; ensure food safety of all formulations and samples.
- Work within all regulatory requirements.
- Perform all other related duties as requested.
About you:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in a technical field (Biology, Chemistry, Food Science)-Food Science degree preferred.
- Computer Skills: Proficient use of Google Suite, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Desirable experience in SAP and Salesforce.
- Desirable experience: Experience in a product development lab, with a pilot plant, and food quality assurance.
- Personal attributes: Be resolute, capable of working under pressure and managing many tasks simultaneously;
- Interpersonal skills: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to brainstorming, problem-solving, and decision-making discussions.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and take initiative.
- Analytical abilities: Strong technical and analytical skill set.
- Communication skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, and is well organized and resourceful.
