The Level 2 Maintenance Technician (Weekends) is responsible for performing intermediate-level maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing equipment, machinery, and facilities. This role involves more complex technical work and requires a higher level of expertise to ensure the efficient production of chocolate products. The ideal candidate is skilled, reliable, and dedicated to maintaining optimal operational efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and advanced maintenance tasks on chocolate production equipment and facilities. 
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose more complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues. 
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability. 
  • Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance projects and equipment installations. 
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance. 
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns. 
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. 
  • Collaborate with other maintenance team members and departments to improve overall operational efficiency. 
  • Generate work orders, complete work orders, and close work orders using a computerized maintenance management system/ Maximo.
  • Provide guidance and support to Level 1 Maintenance Technicians. 
  • Participate in training programs to stay updated on the latest maintenance practices and technologies.
  • Committed to providing a safe food product.
  • Ability to adhere to GMP practices and all other food safety requirements.

 

About you:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance or related field. 
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Willingness to work from Friday to Monday (40 hours). 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Basic computer skills for maintaining records and accessing information. 
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods. 
  • Technical certification or vocational training in a relevant field. (Desirable experience).
  • Experience with maintenance management software (Maximo). (Desirable experience).
  • Familiarity with food production equipment and processes. (Desirable experience). 
  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards and practices. (Desirable experience).
