Maintenance Technician (3rd shift and Weekends)

About the role:
The Level 1 Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing basic maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of machinery, equipment, and facilities. This role involves routine inspections, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to support the production of high-quality chocolate products. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Available Shifts:
- Weekend: Thurs - Fri: 11 pm - 7:30 am; Fri-Sat: 11 pm - 7:30 am; Sat-Sun: 7 pm - 7:30 am; Sun-Mon: 7 pm - 7:30 am.
- 3rd shift: Mon - Fri: 11 pm- 7:30 am.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on chocolate production equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, inspection, and setup.
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues related to production machinery.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and resolve potential issues.
- Support the installation, setup, and adjustment of production and end-of-line equipment (e.g., metal detectors, printers, flow wrappers).
- Create, update, and close work orders using the computerized maintenance management system (Maximo).
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, GMPs, and all food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Support the Maintenance Supervisor and team while participating in training and development to advance technical skills.
About you:
- Experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably in food manufacturing.
- Technical or mechanical background, with basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; electrical certification and PLC knowledge are a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and results-oriented mindset, able to work under pressure.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team; basic computer skills required.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, standing for extended periods, and flexibility to work evenings or weekends if needed.
