POSITION TITLE: Quality Assurance Coordinator
SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Coordinator will be responsible for reviewing and verifying standards with product testing, product release, packaging, labeling, weight control, lot coding and traceability, nutritional labeling, supplier and ingredient information, and product sampling. The QA Coordinator will perform activities in accordance to company and customer quality management systems and ensure the quality of the products by enforcing GFSI (food safety), GMP (good manufacturing practices), quality policy, safety and sanitation regulations.

● Comply with all department specific quality, safety, GFSI, regulatory, and food safety policies and procedures.
● Lead an investigation on internal and external reported quality and food safety issues.
● Perform sampling, collection, processing and shipment of lab samples.
● Collect and review production activities and records in accordance with company and customer quality management systems.
● Collect and verify information for release of finished products.
● Oversee the custody of work-in-process and finished products
● Code and transfer products into appropriate product status.
● Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses for biological, chemical, and physical hazards.
● Have good working knowledge of production floor processes and the associated risks.
● Administer classroom and hand-on quality and food safety training to associates.
● Audit internal programs and processes for compliance to Barry Callebaut standards and GFSI requirements.
● Track, trend, and analyze data. Complete graphs and charts for meetings.
● Collect and verify standards and standard updates through SAP and production records
● Have a solid understanding of technical data sheets and food safety documentation
● Collect, verify, and maintain files on supplier and ingredient information.
● Performs other assignments as directed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Food Science or equivalent preferred
● 1-2 years of experience in food safety and/or manufacturing.
● General knowledge of food technology. Good working knowledge of GMPs, Health and Safety regulations. Correspond and interact professionally and ethically with all levels of the organization and customers/vendors.
● Strong written & verbal communication skills, analytical ability, leadership strengths and ability to work effectively with a team are required (computer software skills to include SAP, Google Workspace, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required).
● Excellent communication skills (presentation, report writing)
● Good interpersonal skills
● Ability to drive projects to completion
