About The Role
We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our company as the Logistics and Inventory Controller (ME), based in Dubai. This role will be responsible for overseeing logistics coordination, inventory control, and supply chain operations across the Middle East. Reporting to the Customer Supply Chain Manager MEA, the Logistics and Inventory Controller will act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for distribution center operations and stock holding, while ensuring efficient replenishment planning, shipment accuracy, and inventory management.
The successful candidate will coordinate with internal stakeholders, logistics service providers (LSPs), and customer service teams to manage the flow of goods, ensure compliance with Barry Callebaut’s safety and quality guidelines, and maintain high service levels. This role also involves analyzing supply chain data to prevent overstocking and out-of-stock issues, as well as driving continuous improvement in logistics performance.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinate distribution center operations and stock holding.
- Plan replenishments, generate purchase orders, and communicate with supply sites.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts with logistics service providers (LSPs).
- Manage import clearance, local deliveries, and export shipments.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely stock replenishment to meet customer demand.
- Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and lead continuous improvement efforts.
- Analyze supply chain data and provide solutions to logistical challenges.
About You
- Possess a Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Management, or a relevant field.
- Have proven experience in a logistics role, including budgeting and inventory management.
- Fluent in at least 2 of the 3 local languages, i.e. English, French & Arab – verbal and written
- Demonstrated understanding of logistics processes, market trends, and financial levers.
- Expertise in inventory management practices, such as ABC analysis and cycle counting.
- Strong analytical and logistical thinking abilities.
- Experience with cost control and optimization in logistics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in English and preferably an additional local language.
- Skilled in collaboration and negotiation with various stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in managing change in a complex environment.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with a focus on driving results.
