The Daily Electrician is responsible for sustainable electrical supply and legal certification of all electrical installations. Acts as the site’s electrical reference.
Responsible for operating and managing the automation of production systems. Provides support to technical services while analyzing and developing automation, instrumentation, and electrical work. Optimizes machine usage to improve productivity; detects malfunctions, performs diagnostics, resolves identified issues, and organizes and plans interventions for major, long-duration, or highly specific breakdowns.
Key responsibilities include:
- Controls, audits, and maintains electrical equipment to guarantee compliance and supply.
- Defines and implements the electrical maintenance strategy, including an emergency intervention plan.
- Acts as the point of contact for energy suppliers and government agencies (electrical matters).
- Supports electrical aspects of investments, providing advice on best practices and solutions.
- Organizes and delivers training related to electricity; ensures knowledge of legislation.
- Maintains and develops communication equipment, air cooling devices, lighting, and electrical safety services.
- Ensure compliance with governmental, local, and group regulations regarding electricity and automation.
- Guarantees on the sustainability of electrical infrastructure, industrial IT, and OT backup systems.
- Communicates updates to electricians and operators regarding changes in operation and automation equipment (STEP7, consoles, HMI, etc.).
- Conducts inspections on renovation projects for electrical and automation systems to ensure work progresses according to plans.
- Develops PLC programs, modifications, and electrical studies for factory-led projects.
- Organizes the tracking of electrical plan modifications using CAD or AutoCAD Electrical.
- Oversees subcontracted work and metrology tasks performed by electrical contractors.
- Enforce and adhere to safety, quality, and food safety standards.
- Contributes to improving the “Barry Callebaut Excellence” culture on-site by proposing and committing to specific improvement actions.
- Ensures the cleanliness and safety of the workstation and all areas within the scope of responsibility, including team spaces.
About You:
Required academic & technical qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or industrial Automation.
- Engineering degree or Higher Technician diploma in Industrial Maintenance with a focus on Automation, Instrumentation, and Industrial Electricity.
- Knowledge of regulations in the field of electricity and industrial automation.
- General knowledge of physics (mechanics, electricity), applied mathematics, and industrial computing (information systems, automation, manufacturing systems).
- Electrical expertise: High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), Low Voltage (LV).
Essential experience & knowledge
- Strong expertise in industrial electricity, PLC programming (Siemens STEP 7), AutoCAD, and industrial networks (Profibus, Ethernet).
- 5–7 years in a technical environment or in the electrical function within a process industry (preferably food industry or other process-based sectors).
Technical/Functional Competencies
