POSITION TITLE: Vice President, Sourcing


REPORTING TO: Head of Global Sourcing






The Zurich-based Barry Callebaut Group is the world’s leading manufacturer of high-quality chocolate and cocoa products – from the origination and processing cocoa beans to producing the finest chocolates, including chocolate fillings, decorations and compounds. The Group runs more than 50 production facilities worldwide and employs a diverse and dedicated global workforce of over 11,500 people.


The Barry Callebaut Group serves the entire food industry, from industrial food manufacturers to artisanal and professional users of chocolate, such as chocolatiers, pastry chefs, bakers, hotels, restaurants, and caterers.




Job Summary:

The Vice President of Sourcing will manage all Non-Cocoa Ingredient activities in North and South America. Develop strategies and building sourcing partnerships to ensure ingredients are purchased at competitive levels while meeting company quality standards.


Essential Functions:

  • Lead a group of 15 associates in North and South America managing all sourcing activities to support our chocolate plants and to ensure financial goals are met
  • Drive strategies, plans, and programs to increase margins and product quality
  • Develop profitability goals, P/L, and budget
  • Serve on local Senior Management Team developing strategies to ensure we stay “best in class”
  • Develop, expand and optimize our vendor supplier network and partnerships in North and South America
  • Maintain strong cross-functional partnerships within the company 
  • Support global non-cocoa strategy and projects implementation in the region.  
  • Manage commodity risks  and positions to ensure compliance with BC Risk Management Policies
  • Participate in industry events and customer visits as needed
  • Drive Sustainability Programs and other company initiatives -  Global and Regional
  • Help deploy and execute indirect material global strategy and initiatives to help the indirect team






  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, or Food Science
  • Master’s degree in Business or Finance preferred


Work Experience:

  • At least 10 years of Procurement experience in the food industry and at least 5 years of experience leading people
  • In-depth knowledge of  Procurement best practices
  • Proven influencing skills with regional presidents and other senior-level stakeholders


Additional Requirements:

  • Up to 30% domestic and international travel
  • Professional working proficiency in Spanish preferred
