POSITION TITLE: Tax Manager – Americas Region


REPORTING TO: Tax Director – Americas Region

About the role:

The role supports the Region Americas Tax Director in managing all tax aspects with respect to the Americas Region (excluding Brazil).  This role has a strong focus on identifying and managing tax risks, ensuring processes and internal controls are consistently applied, researching and documenting key tax issues relevant to the Americas entities, developing and implementing value add tax projects and strategies, which align with global leadership’s goals and objectives.  The role also supports the Americas Tax Director and the Director Accounting & Reporting in detailed review of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations for Americas entities, income tax returns, and key deliverables prepared by external consultants. 


The role seeks candidates who are proactive and will readily interact and collaborate with various counterparts and cross functional teams throughout the organization across many jurisdictions.  The role also requires candidates who can build strong relationships internally and with external advisers and consultants to enhance the level of service to the organization.


Key responsibilities:

  • Review income tax returns, transfer pricing reports, key deliverables and supporting work papers prepared by external advisers.
  • Review and analyze quarterly and annual income tax provision for Americas entities, as well as prepare supporting documentation (as needed) on significant transactions, the recognition criteria for deferred tax assets, uncertain tax positions, and other significant items.
  • Prepare monthly income tax estimates and annual budgeting and forecasting for Americas entities.
  • Support Region Americas Tax Director in the development and implementation of key value add tax projects for the Americas Region.
  • Proactively manage tax projects, tax audits, and tax provision and compliance processes.    
  • Monitor tax legislation and consider application to Americas Region.  
  • Research tax issues and prepare documentation (including memorandums and/or power point deck) on key issues for communication with senior leadership.


Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting,
  • Masters Degree preferred
  • Professional Qualification (CPA)
  • At least 5 years of experience with a large publicly traded multinational corporation or Big Four accounting firm
  • Significant experience in preparing and reviewing income tax provisions
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
