REPORTING TO: Senior Manager, Central Planning

The Barry Callebaut Group serves the entire food industry, from industrial food manufacturers to artisanal and professional users of chocolate, such as chocolatiers, pastry chefs, bakers, hotels, restaurants, and caterers.


Job Summary:

The Supply Planner manages the network chocolate capacity between Barry Callebaut North American production facilities. You are also responsible for long- term chocolate supply outlook, and monthly plant reviews. You will work closely with sales and production plants, using the overall network, to balance the demand and supply to best serve the customer.


Essential Functions:

  • Main contact between Sales, R&D and Local Plants for long-term capacity information
  • Use OMP strategic planning tool to review monthly long term production plans (raw material forecast, inventory projections, etc.)
  • Use OMP strategic planning tool for ad hoc scenario planning to evaluate new volume opportunities
  • Keep current on detailed knowledge of the network molded capacity and capability
  • Maintain target service level KPI – weekly, monthly, and year-to-date analysis and reporting for management
  • Maintain target inventory projections –monthly and yearly forward looking analysis and reporting for management
  • Review new business quotes for long term availability (three months and beyond)and provide timing, working specifically with Pricing and Sales for evaluation
  • Work closely with Sales, R&D, and Operations on product launches, changes, and new developing projects
  • Support the annual budgeting activities specifically related production planning, shift regime recommendations, and production line utilization
  • Provide necessary reports and updates for the monthly Sales and Operations Planning meetings
  • Hold monthly reviews with North America production sites to discuss production schedules and capacity concerns
  • Manage the product transfer database for molded products, tracking and proposing production location changes to help with overall network capacity optimization and contingency planning
  • Responsible for planning relevant data clean up and maintenance in SAP



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, or Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Supply Chain and/or Operations function in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Previous experience with SAP, OMP, and Business Objects preferred



  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
  • Strong analytical skills
