The Cluster SHE Manager is responsible for leading the Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) excellence agenda at Barry Callebaut in the factories, warehouses and offices within its scope. This role will take an active part in the design and development of the global SHE Objectives, Strategy, Standards and Systems. The Cluster SHE Manager will moreover drive the deployment and compliance to BC Standards and applicable legislation in the locations in its scope, in cooperation with the network of local SHE Managers in the sites and in alignment with the objectives of the CSD organization.

 

Key responsibilities include: 


Actively contribute/participate in building the global Go for Zero Accidents Strategy  
●    Leading the development and continuous improvement of global safety, health & environment systems, standards and programs.
●    Promote globally positive  initiatives pertaining to safety, health & environment
●    Provide expertise advice and technical support in safety & health topics at global level
●    Support the local sites in  emergency response and crisis management, sites in scope or based on expertise
●    Build collaboration across the global SHE community
Leading Safety, Health & Environment culture, mindset and behaviors
●    Building and managing competencies and culture in the organization 
●    Provide technical expertise and coach functional and operational leaders 
●    Deploy lessons learned in a robust manner
●    Drive behavior change by implementing improvement programs and practices
Define, lead and manage the deployment of the SHE strategic program in the sites in scope
●    Ensure compliance to law and effective implementation of BC standards
●    Support in risk management and management of change
●    Participate and organize audits, analyze results, derive and follow up on actions.
●    Follow up on SHE Capex investments 
●    Support the site teams in priority setting

Monitor the Safety & Health performance to drive continuous improvement and priority setting. 
●    Increase visibility of SHE performance and progress against targets and key performance indicators
●    Ensure timely incident investigation and sharing of lessons learned including follow up of actions 
●    Lead management reviews and manage local reviews via the local SHE network 
Define, lead and manage the execution of the SHE excellence program in collaboration with the global SHE organization and the regional leadership team
●    Coordinate resources to ensure that SHE aspects and requirements; including legal requirements, laws, permits and licenses which are affecting the facility, are fully complied to
●    Be accountable for developing SHE  governance processes Develop proactive programs to address SHE gaps, e.g. through organizing, analyzing trends. Follow up on actions.
●    Develop people and talent in the local SHE organization.

 

About you:


● Master's Degree in Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in Safety & Health and Fire Safety Management Systems a plus.
●    10+ years of relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment, food industry experience is a plus 
●    Experience in dealing with an OSHA regulated environment
●    5+ years in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment
●    Project management experience
●    Problem-solving and continuous improvement experience
●    Effective communication and organizational skills 
●    Fluent in English, Spanish preferred 
●    Be a change agent
●    Experienced in establishing and implementing strategic plans to deliver the planned results 
●    Coaching and training skills
●    Mix of manufacturing and SHE functional expertise
