Production Supervisor (Overnight Shift)

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of assigned shift including planning, organization, implementations and control of operations in the areas of Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality, and Safety, Customer Service, team process and personnel. This role will hold ownership of plant and food safety, including all regulatory requirements. The Production Supervisor will provide team guidance and be the first point of contact for production leads as well as work closely with the plant manager to manage team responsibilities. The Production Supervisor will train, coach, problem solve and communicate timely and relevant information to team and management members in a thorough manner.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Directs and manages plant operations for production and shipping.
  • Responsible for the operations of each shift including supporting efficient equipment operation, providing adequate personnel training, handling personnel issues, and maintaining adequate personnel placement.
  • Establishes continuous improvement strategies and processes to reduce waste, cycle time and hours utilization.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of assigned shift including troubleshooting as needed.
  • Ensure correct completion of all shift paperwork.
  • Enforce company policies, safety standards, GMP standards and HACCP.
  • Cross train personnel to be able to work in all areas of the Chocolate Production
  • Ensure all production lines are covered for operation based on the business needs.
  • Ensure all new production trials are fully tested and do not over consume items which would cause a negative MUV.
  • Coach and support each team member and facilitate team meetings as needed, including employee and temporary employee work assessments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely KPI's are delivered to the management team.
  • Ensure RCA is carried out on all quality issues and safety infractions.
  • Work with the quality department to ensure audit gaps are closed and the production areas are kept clean and orderly.
  • Ensure through the supervisors and leads that all CCP's and CP's are checked as per schedule and are used correctively.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as management of receipts, schedules, shift assignments, performance documentation.
  • Perform all other related duties as required

 

About you:

  • High School diploma or equivalency and a minimum of two years of appropriate supervisory experience in a food-manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient English language skills both written and oral
  • Computer knowledge in Word, Excel; PowerPoint
  • SAP knowledge preferred
