Job summary:

Reporting to the Americas Sourcing Director you are responsible for primary activities related to executing the sourcing of materials including Fats & Oils & Emulsifiers, updating pricing system information and reporting on coverage positions.


Essential functions:

  • Source and negotiate pricing of fats and emulsifiers.
  • Managing supplier contracts in SAP.
  • Managing data bases and update material quotes.
  • Material management - coordination between Sourcing and Supply Chain.
  • Manage supplier base by monitoring performance.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Assist with supply strategy development, competitive bidding, project management, and requirements planning and risk management.
  • Assist Product Development and R&D teams in sourcing required components from preferred and new suppliers.
  • Oversee internal Sourcing activities including cost requests, quality documents, and NAFTA certifications to meet business objectives.
  • Support with market presentations and completely manage function when needed.
  • Initiate Sourcing plays a key role in quality by ensuring that supplier selection meets all the Quality and Customer Service Criteria set by the organization, and the regulator compliance for the food industry. Responsible for reporting any potential and real quality concerns QA department.
  • 30% travel required.


Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years of experience in procurement in the food industry is a must and with experience in commodities.
  • Extensive SAP knowledge with working knowledge of MRP systems.
  • Fully proficient in Excel and Power Point.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a must.
