Manager, Supply Planning - Cocoa

About the role: 

Under the management of the Sr. Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Planning Manager, Cocoa is responsible for team of Central Supply planners, managing the short to medium term supply of finished goods and cocoa raw materials between Barry Callebaut facilities. This person is also responsible for short-term supply issues for finished cocoa products. Working closely with sales, the production plants and the Global Cocoa Team to balance the supply of cocoa finished goods and raw materials to best serve the customer. 

 

Key responsibilties include: 

  • Main contact between sales/customer service and local planning for short term supply shortages
  • Supply contact for key customers; including participation in meetings, projects, and having direct communication with customer planning teams
  • Detailed knowledge of the network capacity and capability
  • Responsible for maintaining target service level KPI for finished products- weekly and monthly review, reporting and analysis
  • Review new business quotes for availability and provide timing, working specifically with pricing and sales for evaluation
  • Work closely with Sales, R&D, and Operations on product launches, changes, and new developing projects
  • Manage high level projects regarding network supply, production transfers, customer requirements and incorporating new investments into the supply network
  • Training for local plant production schedulers as needed, keeping local production scheduling informed of key network changes 
  • Support the annual budgeting activities specifically related production planning, shift regime recommendations, and production line utilization
  • Provide high level supply reports and updates for the monthly Sales and Operations Planning meetings and other monthly reporting activities
  • Hold weekly review with plants in North East and Midwest to discuss production schedules and raw material concerns
  • Manage the product transfer database for molded, tracking and proposing production location changes to help with overall network capacity optimization and contingency planning, working closely with R&D and Master Data
  • Work closely with long term capacity planner, and the central demand planning team on demand changes, supply issues and open capacity available for sale
  • Attend monthly capacity calls with production plants, responsible for attainment to plan KPI for molding lines

 

About you: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a Supply Chain function, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Previous experience with SAP, OMP, and Business Objects beneficial
