About the role:
This is a critical leadership position for both North and South America. This position will oversee all subcontractor and supplier quality programs for the Barry Callebaut Americas ensuring adherence to company, customer and regulatory standards in addition to driving improved performance to deliver business results.


Regarding co-manufacturers and co-packers the manager will lead audits, manage subcontractor performance and drive continuous improvement with the program.   They will work closely with subco operations on identifying the right partners to deliver food safety and high quality standards and assess and manage risk in partner selection.


With respect to the Supplier Quality, the manager will oversee a team of auditors and ensure execution on program requirements including:   auditing and gap closure, complaint management, policy adherence and ongoing monitoring of KPI’s including improvement in supplier performance.  This role will work in close collaboration with the Global Raw Material and Vendor Assurance Team, Sourcing, R&D and the BC plants. 

Key responsibilities include:
Management of New Business Opportunities with Subcontractors
Manage new subcontractor projects to ensure the facility’s programs and finished products adhere to BC requirements and specifications.
Role will require close interaction with sales, R&D and the co-pack business manager for new project implementation.

Quality and Food Safety Management of Subcontractors 
Manages routine audits and visits to ensure subcontractors are adhering to BC requirements and approval status is maintained (approximately 40% travel)
Organize and follow up on action plans for non-conformances for subcontractors
Manage subcontractor complaints, investigation and responses
Monitor KPI’s for subcontractors and establish action plans to drive improvement.
Drives Continuous Improvements with BC programs requirements and subcontractor performance
Ensure full implementation of BC QA policies & specifications  related to subcontractors

Supplier Quality Management
Leads Regional Supplier Quality Team to ensure program requirements and KPI’s are achieved with auditing and supplier performance.
Liaison with sourcing leaders to drive  supplier performance through attendance of quarterly performance review meetings with the Quality Systems Manager and aligning actions to follow up on low performing suppliers.
Liaison with the corporate raw materials and regional QA team on critical discussions, program changes and rollouts related to supplier quality.
Upgrade program requirements and manage audit requirements for contracted services, external warehouses and wash stations.
Identities continuous improvement opportunities within the supplier management team and process to drive change.

Crisis & Incidents Management
Act as key coordinator for serious quality & food safety crisis and incidents management related to raw materials and subcontracted products.
Support sites in managing serious or repetitive quality incidents
Ensure proper communication towards Regional QA Quality Director, Global QA, Sourcing & Trading, Planning, Supply Chain
About you:
Bachelor / Master Degree in Food Science or equivalent
10+ years Subcontractor and Supplier Quality Management experience in food/pharmaceutical/feed environment
HACCP Certified
PCQI Certified
Certified Auditor




GFSI certification schemes and requirements 
HACCP and prerequisite programs
FSMA, GMP’s, Food Safety & Quality Requirements
