Qualified candidates will be personable and presentable, great oral communicators, detail-oriented, organized, punctual; can work with minimal direction after training; success-driven; food or confection experience is a plus. Knowledge of local food scene and self-starter desired. This is an opportunity to join a great company and contribute to a growing sales team in New York City.


Key responsibilities include: 

●    Promote product range (all brands) by calling on R&D, chefs, bakers, and confectioners--both current customers and prospects--to familiarize them with products available from Barry Callebaut for their applications.
●    Represent the entire range of company products and services to the customer set, while also leading the customer account planning activities.
●    Drive portfolio growth, R&D development ambitions including new products seeded for development, and management of the other scope of services offered (technical services, supply chain/planning, marketing, etc.)
●    Develops account plans for customers to deliver annual volume and margin targets, and strategic initiatives to drive the highest possible wallet share and create a “sticky” supply relationship; develop new business opportunities including strategic volumes and close deals.
●    Grow our customer database by prospecting and converting business to our brands by focusing on high volume potential business like confectionery, bakery and ice cream wholesalers, as well as bakery chains. 
●    Provide technical assistance to customers and prospects when needed, while continuing to strengthen the relationship with the customer and provide a value added service. Build relationship chefs, bakers, confectioners, and others in the culinary community is an essential part of this job.

About you: 

●    Culinary background preferred
●    Sales and/or Marketing experience strongly preferred
●    Previous working experience at a food distributor preferred
