Le ou la Gestionnaire Ingénierie Électricité & Automatisation (E&A) – Exécution de projets joue un rôle clé au sein de l’équipe d’ingénierie du cluster. Il ou elle assure la prise en charge complète du cycle de vie des projets en électricité et automatisation, tout en soutenant des initiatives en cybersécurité industrielle et en systèmes MES, réparties sur plusieurs sites.

Ce rôle peut également inclure l’encadrement d’ingénieurs projets E&A et le soutien au/à la Gestionnaire Exécution de projets dans l’analyse et la préparation de projets d’investissement stratégique, particulièrement dans le domaine de l’électricité et de l’automatisation.

Relevant du/de la Directeur·trice de l’exécution de l’ingénierie du cluster, le poste s’exerce en étroite collaboration avec les directions d’usines, les équipes d’ingénierie globale, les ingénieurs GBS, les firmes d’ingénierie externes, les équipes locales d’ingénierie ainsi que les fonctions Qualité, SST et Sécurité alimentaire.

Responsabilités principales :

Phase de préparation et d’analyse des projets

• Analyser en détail les procédés industriels et proposer des solutions technologiques performantes, durables et adaptées au contexte manufacturier nord‑américain, en assurant une veille technologique continue.
• Coordonner et encadrer une ou plusieurs équipes projets E&A (projets majeurs ou multiples projets en parallèle).
• En collaboration avec les clients internes et les utilisateurs finaux, définir les besoins, élaborer les scénarios techniques et établir le périmètre, l’échéancier et le budget des projets.
• Assurer la gestion complète du périmètre E&A (de A à Z) en appui au gestionnaire de projet principal. Les projets peuvent inclure des investissements de capacité, des modernisations d’installations (revamping) ou des projets énergétiques.
• Réaliser l’ingénierie de base ou coordonner celle‑ci avec des partenaires externes, incluant :
• La distribution électrique basse tension, l’instrumentation et l’automatisation, incluant les réseaux OT, les systèmes MES et les fonctions de sécurité
• Les systèmes électriques des utilités du bâtiment (éclairage, alimentation, systèmes de protection incendie)
• La préparation des documents d’appels d’offres, l’alignement technique et le soutien aux équipes d’approvisionnement
• Préparer les demandes de prix (RFQ) et coordonner l’approvisionnement des équipements en collaboration avec les équipes sourcing.

Phase d’exécution et de mise en service

• Gérer les ressources projets (internes et externes), incluant les équipes d’ingénierie, les budgets et les échéanciers.
• Assurer l’exécution des projets après approbation, dans le respect des délais, des budgets et des exigences SST du Québec et des normes corporatives.
• Piloter la conception, la programmation, les essais et la mise en service des systèmes d’automatisation et de contrôle (PLC, HMI, SCADA).
• Superviser les partenaires et entrepreneurs durant l’ingénierie détaillée, l’installation et la mise en service, afin d’assurer la conformité aux standards de Barry Callebaut, aux normes canadiennes et aux exigences locales.
• Encadrer les sous‑traitants lors des travaux d’installation, incluant le câblage, les tests E/S, les essais fonctionnels et le démarrage.
• Structurer l’équipe projet et coordonner l’ensemble des intervenants internes et externes.
• Assurer une communication claire et un suivi rigoureux de l’avancement auprès des parties prenantes.

Soutien ingénierie et amélioration continue

• Offrir un soutien technique à la maintenance des systèmes PLC et informatiques industrielles, en collaboration avec les équipes procédés, TI, production et maintenance.
• Garantir le respect des standards E&A et veiller à leur application tout au long du cycle de vie des projets.

Profil recherché :

• Baccalauréat ou maîtrise en ingénierie (un atout majeur), idéalement en électrotechnique, électromécanique ou énergie.
• Membre de l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) ou admissibilité — un atout.
• Minimum de 7 ans d’expérience en automatisation industrielle (HMI, SCADA, PLC, systèmes de contrôle).
• Solide connaissance des plateformes Allen‑Bradley, Siemens et Schneider.
• Maîtrise avancée du français et de l’anglais, afin de collaborer avec des équipes et partenaires hors Québec.
• Approche proactive, orientée solutions, avec un fort esprit d’initiative.
• Connaissance d’outils tels qu’AutoCAD, Caneco, Sistema — un atout.
• Rigueur, méthode et capacité à produire des plans d’action, devis techniques et appels d’offres.
• Bonne connaissance des normes nord‑américaines et internationales en électricité et automatisation (CSA, UL, Directive Machines, etc.).
• Expérience en projets énergétiques et sensibilité aux enjeux de décarbonation et d’efficacité énergétique.
• Capacité à travailler de façon autonome tout en valorisant la collaboration.
• Solides compétences en planification et gestion simultanée de plusieurs projets.
• Esprit analytique allié à la créativité pour développer des solutions structurées.
• Approche terrain (« hands‑on ») et capacité à livrer des projets de A à Z.
• Aisance dans des projets d’envergure, parfois internationaux.
• Disponibilité pour des déplacements occasionnels selon les besoins opérationnels du cluster.

About the role: 

The Engineering Manager, E&A (Electrical & Automation), Project Execution supports the cluster engineering team by providing full life-cycle support of automation and electrical while also supporting cyber security and MES projects across multiple locations and may supervise project engineers, E&A. The Engineering Manager can also be responsible to support the Project Execution Manager for the study and preparation of an assigned strategic investment project, especially in the E&A area. 
The Engineering Manager E&A, Project Execution reports to the cluster Director of Engineering execution, collaborating with key internal stakeholders: manufacturing cluster and plant leadership, global engineering, GBS engineers, external engineering companies, local engineering, quality & safety functions.

Key responsibilities include: 

Project preparation and information phase:

• Perform detailed technical analysis of functional processes and always propose the most efficient/state of the art solutions, with a broad and continuous interest in technology
• Coordinates, assists and guides single large or multiple E&A project teams at one given time.
• Together with and based on the input of internal customer and end-users, you analyze the project and work out the proposals in order to arrive at a concrete definition and budget of the project. You are managing the E&A scope from A to Z, supporting the general project manager. The projects in scope are capacity investments, revamps or energy projects. 
• Depending on the size of the project, you perform the basic engineering yourself or coordinate with external Engineering partners. This includes: 
• The low voltage power distribution, instrumentation and automation scope of engineering projects incl. OT network design, MES design and safety functions.
• E&A for all building utilities: lighting, power supplies and fire protection systems,
• The establishment of tender documents, technical alignment and support for the procurement department of Barry Callebaut. 
• Establishes RFQ’s for procurement of all equipment and manages the procurement activities in close cooperation with sourcing.

Project execution and commissioning phase:

• Manage project resources (GBS engineers and external engineering companies), including people, time, and budgets to successfully achieve project goals.
• Manages the project execution, after IP approval. Remains within the agreed timeline and budget.
• Manage the automation and controls systems design, specification, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up. Coordinate programming, configuring, testing, and commissioning PLC and HMI based control systems
• Together with the E&A team (in the region, in GBS and external), you follow up the selected contractors during detailed engineering in order to have the project in line with scope, budget and timing and complying with the international and Barry Callebaut standards.
• Lead a team of subcontractors during installation and commissioning works, including cabling cableway design, I/O-testing, functional testing and start-up.
• You organize the project team and coordinate the work of internal and external stakeholders. 
• Reports frequently and correctly to all stakeholders.
• General Engineering supporting and ad hoc activities:
• Give guidance on maintenance of programs for PLCs and PCs coordinating with Process Engineers, Project Engineers, Design Engineers, Information Technology staff, and Production and Maintenance personnel.
• Safeguards the E&A standards and ensures that these are implemented by the E&A team during the project design and execution phase.

About you:

• BS or Masters in Engineering, preference for master degree, preferably in the field of electro-technics, electro-mechanics or energy and have a thorough knowledge of industrial electricity or you’ve gained the needed skills through previous work experiences.
• At least 7 years of related automation experience with HMI, SCADA, PLCs, and general control system design
• In-depth knowledge of industrial automation systems, including HMI and SCADA systems, Allen-Bradley controls/controllers, Siemens and Schneider PLCs
• Fluent in french and  English (to interact with external stakeholders). 
• Strong can-do attitude and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of technical tools: Autocad, Caneco, Sistema are a nice to have.
• You work in an orderly manner, draw up action plans, specifications and tender documents.
• You have knowledge of the international standards in the electrical and automation disciplines, starting from the machine directive.    
• You have a solid experience in energy projects and an understanding of the ongoing transition towards carbon free operations. 
• You can work independently and at the same time like to be part of a team.
• You have strong planning skills and are able to manage different E&A projects in parallel.
• You are analytical and you are able to translate your creative thinking into structured solutions.
• “Hands on” mentality while taking the lead in projects from A to Z.
• You are not afraid of large-scale international E&A projects.
• Flexible to travel during project assignments, projects are executed in the cluster.
