POSITION TITLE: Finance BP, Cocoa North America


REPORTING TO: Manager, Finance BP, Cocoa North America

The Barry Callebaut Group serves the entire food industry, from industrial food manufacturers to artisanal and professional users of chocolate, such as chocolatiers, pastry chefs, bakers, hotels, restaurants, and caterers.




The Finance Business Partner will serve as a key member of the Barry Callebaut finance organization and the Cocoa NA business unit.  This role will be responsible for supporting the business unit by performing duties related to financial reporting, analysis, forecasting and budgeting.  He or she will support the Manager Finance BP and the BU Vice President by delivering timely and accurate financial data and analysis in order to drive key business decisions.  The BP will also be required to work collaboratively with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and other key stakeholders to help drive the business forward. 


Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain financial reports and analysis to improve the financial performance of the business unit
  • Support month end close process by providing detailed and timely variance analyses
  • Provide input and assistance to the annual budget cycle and mid-term planning processes
  • Provide monthly reporting and commentary on P&L including margin, variable costs, and overheads
  • Regularly maintain and improve sales forecast by identifying potential commercial risks and opportunities
  • Participate in account management discussions, customer reviews, and sales planning strategy
  • Work with cocoa plants to understand production drivers, factory costs, and commercial strategy
  • Collaborate with pricing, sourcing, sales, and risk to understand global cocoa market fundamentals and industry dynamics
  • Identify and lead process improvements to financial reporting process by leveraging the global and regional finance organizations and other shared resources
  • Complete and support regular and ad-hoc reporting for formal and informal reports, graphs, charts and presentations
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly management presentations
  • Participate in ongoing continuous improvement and finance related projects to ensure best practices




Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business related field
  • 4+ years of experience in food manufacturing, food ingredient, or commodity related business
  • Budgeting, financial analysis, and commercial analysis experience
  • Expert proficiency with Excel and Power Point
  • SAP/BIW experience preferred
  • Previous cocoa/chocolate industry experience strongly preferred
