This position will analyze commodity markets related to the manufacturing of chocolate in the Americas Region, mainly focused on Sugar (World and US), Dairy and Fats & Oils. You will provide main commodities insights, market, and risk management guidance to enable sound sourcing strategies. You will communicate a market summary to our largest customers on a weekly and monthly basis and will have direct exposure to our customers purchasing teams. This position plays an important commercial role communicating market data. This position is the single point of contact from Sourcing to the Commercial organization, it is the key liaison between Sourcing, the commercial team, and the customer base.


Key responsibilities include: 

  • Analyze fundamental drivers that impact pricing and market trends, focused on Sugar, Dairy, Oils & Fats
  • Share insights and market trends and recommendations to the sourcing team
  • Interact with the Global Sourcing organization presenting the Americas views and insights towards a strategic sourcing analysis on main commodities (Sugar, Dairy & Fats)
  • Create a framework to identify market asymmetries and guide sourcing activities with the aim of an in-house full stack data analysis
  • Improve the risk management activities of our commodities portfolio designing the analysis, reports and metrics to assist in anticipating regional risks
  • Write and distribute weekly and Monthly market updates to customers and sales teams
  • Actively participate with customers and our sales team in conference calls and visits to discuss market updates

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or Finance; MBA or Master’s degree desired
  • 5-8 years of experience in market analysis, commodity management or strategic sourcing with a good processing, consumer goods or trading company
  • Strong analytical skills in commodity markets (Sugar, Dairy, Oils & Fats)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Power Point and Excel
  • Professional proficiency in English and Spanish strongly desired
  • Available to travel up to 25%
