About the role: 

 

This position is responsible for all cleaning activities necessary for the cleanliness throughout the manufacturing facility. Required to assist in production areas when needed. The Sanitor ensures food and employee safety in their daily routine.

 

Key responsibilities include: 

 

  • Cleans sanitizes all areas in the plant – floors, walls, ceilings, and railings rack supports as per the master sanitation checklist or as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
  • Keep all working areas in production departments of the facility in clean and sanitary condition.
  • Monitors employee parking lot for garbage.
  • Wipes fire extinguishers, lamps, fans, ledges, pipe insulation and dispenses of any garbage.
  • Assist in cleaning up spills.
  • Assist with production if needed. Other duties as assigned.
  • Operates and maintains floor scrubber on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for the wash-bay chemical inventory.
  • Cross training required to assist in production situations in the case of absenteeism and vacation coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with all food and employee safety policies and procedures.
     

About you:

 

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment is an asset. 
  • Arial Lift Certification.
  • Lift Truck Certification.
  • Must be able to work in a hot environment and move freely around the building
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted
  • Exposure to excessive noise, heat, cold and dust.
  • Mild chemical exposure.

 

Compensation: Hourly Rate: $23.272 CAD
Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
