This position is responsible for all cleaning and sanitization activities necessary for the cleanliness throughout the manufacturing facility. Required to assist in production areas when needed. The Sanitation Technician ensures food and employee safety in their daily routine.
Key responsibilities include:

Sanitize equipment and facilities in compliance with food manufacturing regulations and GMP standards.

Perform plant cleaning tasks as outlined in the Master Sanitation Schedule and maintain general housekeeping across all areas.

Operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively, including power washers, foam applicators, scrubbers, compactors, lifts, and manual tools.

Disassemble and reassemble machinery and processing equipment, such as pumps and bucket elevators, for thorough cleaning.

Use and maintain proper PPE in accordance with OSHA and GMP guidelines, or as directed by supervisors.

Follow safety and hygiene procedures, including safe lifting techniques and injury reporting protocols.

Apply allergen elimination procedures and ensure compliance with sanitation standards in assigned areas.

Read and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for the safe preparation and use of chemical cleaning agents.

Participate in safety training, team development programs, and plant initiatives to support a safe and efficient work environment.

Assist with spill containment and pest control, including reporting pest activity and removing product debris.

Support continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).

Work independently and efficiently, with minimal supervision, and perform additional duties as required.
About you:

High School Diploma.

Experience working in a food manufacturing environment an asset.

Working at Heights and Arial Lift Certification.

Must be able to freely move around entire facility.

Must be able to lift 25lbs.

Comfortable Working at Heights.

Exposure to excessive noise, heat, cold and dust.

Mild chemical exposure.

Stooping, Kneeling, Bending, Working from Heights, Smelling

While performing some of the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
