About the role

The responsibility of the Quality Assurance Technician is to perform day-to-day activities, perform analysis and be able to interpret QA information as per Barry Callebaut Policies and Procedures. The Technician will communicate and interact with inside and outside customers.  The Quality Assurance Technician ensures food and employee safety in their daily routine.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Performs the day-to-day activities as the standard requires.
  • Actively participates in monitoring and maintaining QA directed programs.
  • Maintains databases for ingredients and traceability.
  • Prepare COA’s as required.
  • Retrieves/tests samples for incoming ingredients and finished products – Interpret results and make recommendations.
  • Monitor trends on QA programs and assist with corrective actions.
  • Performs verification of lab equipment calibration.
  • Maintain, update procedures and conduct required training with employees as needed.
  • Participate/specialize in sensory evaluations.
  • Maintain the Environmental Testing Program.
  • Conduct audits (GMP, ISO, Sanitation).
  • Assist with preparation, and participate in third party audits.
  • Prepare and submit QA reports (NCR’s GMP, ISO, Shelf life, etc.) as required.
  • Interprets analytical results and notifies QA Supervisor of irregularities.
  • Assists with development and maintenance of departmental projects.
  • Represent QA Supervisor during absence from regular meetings as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ensures compliance with all food and employee safety policies and procedures.

 

Environmental / Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to freely move around entire facility.
  • Ability to work in and be exposed to heat.

 

About you

  • College Diploma/University Degree with preference given to a Science discipline.
  • Experience in a Food Manufacturing Environment preferred.
  • Previous laboratory experiences an asset.
  • SAP experience an asset.
